ITHACA, NY

Annually, the City of Ithaca partners with the Rotary Club of Ithaca to present the Susan Blumenthal Pride of Ownership Award. The program recognizes owners of properties within the City of Ithaca who have developed projects and/or taken care to renovate and aesthetically strengthen and enhance the physical appearance of their neighborhoods and downtown businesses.

Lakeview Health Services, Inc. is honored to be one of the recipients of the 2023 Susan Blumenthal Ithaca Pride of Ownership Award for their new apartment building, West End Heights, located at 701 West Court Street in Ithaca.

West End Heights replaced several older buildings previously located on the lots surrounding the corner of Court and Meadow Streets. The new building, which is also the recipient of several architectural design awards, fills a need for safe, affordable housing apartments within the city along with housing for individuals recovering from mental health issues.

History of the Award:
Founded in 1998, former Common Council member Susan Blumenthal wished to recognize the beautification that community members make to their neighborhoods. She felt that developers and property owners should receive recognition for work that went above and beyond the requirements of the project. The awards are focused on projects that are thoughtful, unexpected, and lift the aesthetic experience of their setting and surroundings.
