Residential Services

Lakeview's Residential programs provide a variety of housing options for individuals over the age of 18 who are recovering from the impact of mental illness in their life. By taking a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach, our programs focus on safety, trust, individuality, and personal choice which assist residents in developing the skills necessary to successfully live with greater independence. residents in our programs receive support around self-advocacy, collaborative decision making and healthy relationships, enabling them to work toward their goals from a person-centered perspective.

Our housing programs are located in Ontario, Seneca, Tompkins, and Wayne Counties. We serve 176 residents across our community residences, supportive apartments, and Single Room Occupancy (SRO). All staff receive extensive training in the recovery process and trauma-informed care, and utilize motivational interviewing techniques to collaborate with the resident and assist them in moving toward their personal goals. Our housing programs are certified by the New York State Office of Mental Health

Community Residence Program

Community Residences (CR) provide a home-like atmosphere to 8-14 individuals with on-site staffing 24 hours per day, seven days a week. Each resident has a private bedroom. The home offers a common living room, kitchen, bathrooms and den, along with other quiet areas for personal reflection and privacy. Our Community Residences are located in Canandaigua, Ithaca, and Macedon.

Supportive Apartment Program

Supportive Apartment programs offer a variety of shared and single living environments with easy access to public transportation, shopping, schools, work, banking, health care providers, and recreational activities. Staff are available on-site during daytime and evening hours, and are accessible by phone for after-hours emergencies. Our apartments are located in Clifton Springs, Canandaigua, Geneva, Ithaca, Seneca Falls, and Newark.

Single Room Occupancy (SRO)

Lakeview’s SRO is a 38 bed program located in Ithaca with on-site support specifically targeted to individuals who have had limited success in other housing environments. Each individual has a private room with a bathroom and kitchenette. The SRO provides meals through its kitchen for those who participate in the meal plan. Program staff provide a range of services that include medication management and daily living skills. This program differs from Lakeview’s other residential options in that it does not fall within the traditional rehabilitation model. For this reason, both staff and residents have the ability to create service plans based on quality of life goals that do not necessarily revolve around transition to more independent living.
