We offer training opportunities for all staff on evidence-based practices and for ongoing position/task/duties in industry-specific areas. Our training programs are always expanding, offering new enhancements to move forward in the areas of professional growth but also to enhance personal well-being for our staff.

Relias Learning Management System
Relias, our learning management system, provides many state and federally required trainings in an online format for easy and convenient staff access.

Trauma Informed Care
All staff at Lakeview are trained in the Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) study and are subsequently well versed to recognize the lifelong effects these experiences in childhood can have on our lives. Lakeview also employes two trainers of the New York State Trauma Informed Network and Resource Center sponsored training: Tending the Roots: Recognizing Trauma and Cultivating Wellness. This training is made available to all Lakeview employees.

Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP)
WRAP is a process and tool used to help individuals identify patterns of what things look like when they are doing well in their recovery as well as what patterns may emerge when they are doing less well and starting to struggle with their recovery. Program staff receive this training through our Relias Learning Management System as well as in Partnership with The Alliance for Rights and Recovery.

Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing is a way of interacting with those served to identify internal motivation for change and help individuals work through any ambivalence they may have about making the change. Motivational Interviewing is a means of working from a Trauma Informed and Recovery Oriented perspective. Program staff receive this training through our Relias Learning Management System as well as in Partnership with The Alliance for Rights and Recovery.

SafeTALK
Lakeview partners with community providers to provide SafeTALK training to all staff. SafeTALK is a suicide awareness and prevention training designed to help individuals identify someone who may be struggling with thoughts of suicide and helping them connect with the appropriate supports.

Safe Zone
Safe Zone training provides education about LGBTQ+ identities, gender and sexuality, and examines prejudice, assumptions, and privilege. Lakeview partners with community providers to offer Safe Zone training to all Lakeview staff.

Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training that teaches participants about mental health and substance-use issues. Lakeview partners with community providers to offer Mental Health First Aid training to all staff.

Breath-Body-Mind™
Breath-Body-Mind™ (BBM™) is a set of gentle breathing practices designed to help people manage stress more effectively. BBM™ teaches evidence-based and trauma-sensitive techniques that offer quick stress relief and enhance stress resilience over time. Lakeview Health Services employs a Certified level 2 Teacher who offers BBM™ to Lakeview staff.

Appreciation At Work™
Lakeview Health Services trains all staff on The 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace, by Gary Chapman and Paul White. This training helps teams communicate appreciation and encouragement to each other, resulting in higher levels of job satisfaction, healthier relationships, decreased cases of burnout and higher staff retention. Lakeview Health Services employs two certified Appreciation at Work facilitators.
