Recovery Center

The Ontario Recovery Center helps members build healthy social and community connections.

Our activities foster personal development that will lead to an enriched, confident, and self-directed life. The Center embraces and promotes recovery, advocacy, inclusion, independence, personal responsibility, learning and wellness.

Our Recovery Center is staffed by Peers who through their lived experience, provide support, guidance, and understanding to our members as they work toward their life goals.   Staff and members work one on one to develop a wide variety of personal life skills leading to meaningful social connections all with the goal of becoming active participants within the community.

Through participation in a wide variety of group activities including in-person gatherings, virtual groups, and off-site adventures, members become empowered to overcome the challenges and stigmas attached to living with mental illness.

We hope you will join us to achieve your full potential!

What’s on the Schedule?

During monthly planning meetings, members are encouraged to bring activity ideas as well as information about local community events. The calendars are developed based on the wants and needs of the membership as well as the availability of activities and events.

This is the beginning of your recovery…

“I had to learn to open up when I arrived at the Center for the first time. That doesn’t mean sharing every detail of one’s personal history, it means putting aside feelings of insecurity and putting myself out there for others to get to know better.

I also found the best friendships in people with whom I thought I had little in common. It’s all about letting go of the negative and deciding to appreciate what we can share with one another.

I was very depressed when I first came to the Recovery Center and now I have close friends that I know are part of my circle of support for the long haul. It has been a life-changing experience for me.”
