For the past several months, Lakeview Health Services has been evaluating the feasibility of developing a mixed-use apartment building at the current Finger Lakes Times location on Genesee St. in Geneva, NY.
Lakeview’s President and CEO, Cathy Lovejoy stated, “For many years, development in Geneva has been a priority, in large part because of the advocacy of our staff, community partners and individuals we serve.”
An excerpt from the from the March 13, 2025 FLT Article states:
“The property at 218 Genesee St. — our home for over 70 years — has been good to the Finger Lakes Times, but the building is just way too large, inefficient and basically unsuitable for our needs any longer,” FLT Publisher, Mike Cutillo said Tuesday. “However, every employee at the FLT is bullish on Geneva, and we are excited about Lakeview’s plans not only because they will help provide some much-needed affordable housing in the city but because they also will allow 218 Genesee St. to continue to be a centerpiece of downtown.”
The apartment building would increase the number of apartments available in the heart of the city by 74. The 37 apartments available to community residents are income-based units with rents that range from $900 to $1,450 for individuals with annual income between $40,740 to $77,600. The building would offer laundry facilities, community spaces and outdoor green space.
Lovejoy added, “We appreciate the support of Mayor Valentino, City Council, and City leadership. We have an exceptional development team and look forward to providing Geneva with housing they can be proud of.”
